A fishing we will go....

To distract me from not having this little baby yet and it being my due date yesterday, we decided to take the kids fishing at Mackart's pond.  I am so glad we did. It turned out to be a really fun fishing trips with lots of memories made.  All 3 of the kids got to reel in a fish, huge fish that liked to jump out of the water, which makes it even more fun and I got to have some distraction!
Three cute kids with 3 fishing poles...
Jenna was the first to give it a try...we didn't catch anything from this spot.
Lydia felt so big having her own pole....this was the first time (and last time--more on that later) having this pole to fish with.
 Anthony landed the first fish!!
Jenna got to bring in the next one...
and last but not least, Lydia got to help Dad bring in the 3rd big fish.
I love this picture of all 3 kids lined up fishing!  I have so many fond memories of fishing with my family growing up and now I get to pass that on and make more with my own little family.

What a fun night and now we get to eat fish for dinner tonight!!

(I do not want to include this story, but Jake said I should....)

So on further explanation of Lydia's fishing pole comment, here is the story.  I had taken Lydia and Jenna further down the bank because we had seen some fish jump and weren't catching anything where we were currently.  I put Lydia's worm out into the water, put the pole down on the bank since Lydia wanted to go back to Dad, took Jenna's hand and walked her down the bank a little to put her's in too.  I helped Jenna, turned around to walk back to the other pole and couldn't find the bobber out in the water.  Huh?...looked at the pole and it started moving off the bank.  Wow!!!  I started running (as fast as my 10 month pregnant body could) and yelling at Jake to tell him the pole was going in.
I got there with enough time to watch the pole hit the water and Jake was still running over.  We could see the pole about 8-10 feet out into the water and felt completely helpless.  Jake ran back and got his pole and tried to 'catch' Lydia's pole, but to no success...after he tried once, we watched the Barbie pole SLOWLY swim away never to be seen again.  If it wasn't so funny, it truly would be a sad story.  It was one of those times you felt completely helpless in doing anything but really wish you could have.
That poor fish swimming around the pond with a pole stuck to it.  Hope it comes off soon!!

Which one?...

As per tradition, I have to put the choices up for which little baby is going to make its appearance in the next few days...always a major reason why I want to be done with a pregnancy!  Cannot wait to find out which baby is coming to our house!!!

Play-doh + Grandma= FUN!!!

My Mom surprised us with a visit on Friday night since Jake was leaving with Anthony for the Father/Son camp out. I was a little stressed being home alone being so close to having a baby but when Mom showed up, I had no more stress!  Plus, the girls and I got to have lots of fun with her!  My Mom always seems to have some fun play-doh stuff and she did not disappoint this time either.  The girls could have played with this for hours if it hadn't been nap time. I am sure they will get more fun out of it once this little baby comes and Grandma comes to visit again!  Thanks again Mom, we had a GREAT time!!

Feeding the ducks....

The boys went to a Father/Son campout and the girls needed something to distract them (mainly me from still being pregnant)...so we decided to enjoy the sunny weather and go to the river.  It is super high this year and that made it a little stressful for the Mom's but nobody got wet and we all enjoyed a night out in the fresh air.  The girls are so cute throwing bread to the ducks...they have to use their whole body to get it to them.

Styling...

Jenna has gotten to the point where she loves to dress herself now.  It is bittersweet.  I like that she likes to get dressed in the morning without me, but the outfits she comes up with are sometimes questionable.  Take the above picture for example.  She came down one morning with all the bows she could fit on this cute little hat.  I just had to snap a picture, she was so proud of it!! Luckily, she got sick of it on her head before we headed out for the day. I can only imagine what kind of looks we might have gotten at the store with this one.  Stay tuned for more styling outfits from Little Miss Jenna!!!

Painting rocks...lady bugs...

I am glad that this is not the face we had the whole night :)....just at the end when she smeared her whole face with paint!!
For FHE this last week we decided to paint some rocks to look like lady bugs for Mother's Day presents for Grandma's to put in their flower gardens.  The kids had so much fun making their rocks look like little lady bugs and have asked several times since when we can paint rocks again.  I love doing projects with my kids. It is fun to see their creativeness come out and see the individual results.  I will try to remember to take a picture of them finished and add it to the post later.
