Field Trip to the Zoo...

The 1st graders made enough money from selling candy at the school that they were able to go to the zoo for a field trip.  I was lucky enough to go be a chaperon. It was fun!  It was cute how excited the kids were to ride the bus.  Some had never ridden it because they lived so close to the school.  I am not sure if they were more excited to ride the bus or to go to the zoo.  It was fun watching all the kids interact and run to each animal, even though I am positive that they had all been there before.  Sometimes I wish I was still a 7-year-old!  I'm really glad I was able to go!

Buffalo at school...

Grandpa Jeral caught another baby buffalo this year.  He and Grammie Jenine were nice enough to take it around to the schools.  He took it to Jenna's preschool too, but I wasn't able to make it to that one.  Anthony's class got to come out along with all the 1st graders and kindergarteners. They all thought it was so cool to be able to pet a real buffalo!

1st camping trip...

We decided to go camping for a test run of our trailer and everything before we went for Memorial Day weekend.  It was not great weather on Friday night, but we still had a great time.  Russell and Katrina came up with us and the kids had a great time climbing the mountain, finding rocks and playing with each other.  We ate yummy dutch-oven food and sat around the fire lots!  Great night.  Russ and Katrina had to leave Saturday morning, but we stayed up and went on a hike, threw rocks in the river and took lots of four-wheeler rides.  It weather was MUCH nicer on Saturday!  We even came home with sunburns.  Excited for all of our camping adventures this year!

Sprinklers and Popsicles...

Oh we love warm spring weather.  It is has been amazing outside this week and the kids have wanted to play in the sprinklers almost every day.  It has been great fun!  One day last week the neighbors had their sprinklers out so we all joined in.  Then she brought out the Popsicle and we had even more fun!  They were thoroughly enjoyed.

Sisters....

These sisters are so cute!  Lydia was letting Jenna do her hair, lots and lots of clips were used.  Lydia and Jenna loved every minute of it.  Several times over the past few weeks, we have heard the girls STILL talking at 9:30 at night.  They stay in their beds, or Lydia goes over to Jenna's bed and they just talk and talk.  One time Jake went in there and Lydia was faced one way on a pillow and Jenna was faced the other way, feet to head, next to each other.  Cute little girls. I hope their sisterly bond stays forever!

New Family Photos...

Sue the T-Rex...

Sue the T-Rex came to the Idaho Falls Museum, so we wanted to take the kids to see all the cool dinosaur bones. She is one of the biggest T-Rex they have found and she was BIG.  I cannot even imagine seeing animals such as these in the wild.  The kids had a great time going from dinosaur to dinosaur.  We had never been to the museum before, so they enjoyed seeing all the other attractions too.  An 'old' town like Idaho Falls used to be, lots of local animals *which they didn't really have much interest in because we see these alive* and then their interactive spot for the kids.  They got to climb a tree to a bird's nest, crawl through a beaver's house, play in an old pioneer home and even go in an Indian's TP (although Anthony thought we said TV and wondered where the TV was).  It was a fun little Family Home Evening.  One of the most fun things happened before we even went in, the museum is by the train tracks and a big train came past us right as we were getting out of the car.  The kids thought it was great being that close to a moving train!
This is Jenna holding the big dinosaur bone.  It was part of its arm.

Dance Recital...

Our Beautiful Jenna had her clogging recital at the end of April. She was so excited to dance on stage again and did FANTASTIC.  All her practicing paid off as she did lots better than last time.   They were supposed to wear their hair curly and out of their faces.  I had my friend Celeste curl Jenna's hair and it turned out SO cute.  She loved it and wouldn't let anyone touch it.  They did 2 dances.  They did their Itsy Bitsy Spider song again and a new Little Mermaid one.  They were such cute little dancers!
Here is her little friend Brynlee.  And this is Lydia wanting to be dancing too!

Freestyle/Greco State 2012

Anthony finished another round of Freestyle/Greco wrestling.  He wrestled Bantam 45 all year, but gave us a scare a few times on not making weight.  He had a great season and learned a lot.  He ended up getting 4th in Greco and 3rd in Freestyle.  Way to go Anthony, we are proud of you!

Happy Birthday Lydia!!!

Lydia was SO excited for her birthday this year. There were lots of birthdays leading up to hers, so she had a good idea what was in store.  When everyone sang to her, she sang "Happy Birthday to ME" right along with everyone else. It was so cute!  She never really had a specific want for her birthday, so we just decided on things that she could use, but didn't want to do toys.  We already have enough of those.  So, she got a  hiking backpack to use this summer, a rag quilt like her brother and sister and a color wonder set.  She was so happy every time she opened something. We took her to Wendy's for her birthday dinner because she loves chicken nuggets and fries!  We just love this little Lydia!

Bad picture, but Anthony was making all sorts of silly faces at me so I made him shut his eyes.  I had to document his part of Lydia's birthday :).  I got a call from the school in the morning saying that Anthony had been hit in the head with a backpack before school started and they had cleaned it up and that it was "just a scratch".  I had them have Anthony call me and he said he was okay and because I was busy with Lydia that day, I didn't go over to check it out.  Boy, how I wish I would have.  When he got home the band-aid was saturated and when I took it off I knew immediately that he would need stitches, especially because wrestling state was that weekend and he would be moving around A LOT.  So we packed everyone up, headed to the doctor and sure enough, 2 stitches.  It wasn't super long, but it was deep.  The doctor gave him the chance to have the numbing stuff or to just have him do the stitches.  Anthony chose to just have him do the stitches and he did so well. He just squeezed my hand really hard and barely even cried.  Next time I will make sure I make it over to the school to check out the "its just a scratch"!!!
