8 months and a few days!

I cannot believe how much faster the second child grows up. Jenna already being 8 months old seems impossible. She is such a great baby. When she was born she barely let out a cry and Jake wondered if she was going to be mute the whole first day because she literarly did not say much. She continues to be that way. She talks to us in the morning from her crib and the rest of the day she must feel like Anthony does all the talking so she doesn't need to :). She is the best baby ever. Always happy with a smile to give to the closest person! I love having my sweet baby Jenna in the family!

A trip to the zoo...

On Saturday, Idaho Falls celebrated Earth Day at the Tauphous Park Zoo. They had lots of booths promoting how to help the environment with different projects and you got into the zoo at a discounted price. Jake and I volunteered last year with Jake's work and had so much fun, we thought we'd go again.
Anthony had a lot of fun running around and enjoying the sunshine. It wasn't exactly hot, but in the sun it was warm and we all came home with sunkissed cheeks. They had raffles periodically and Jake won a three month subscription to the local newspaper. That was quite exciting because Jake thinks he never wins!

Anthony LOVED the zoo. He couldn't get enough of the Tigers and the Monkeys. Jenna loved to watch the monkeys too. She would kick her little feet and wiggle her arms and get so happy when they'd come close to the window. It was a nice saturday. We weren't very productive on our long list of outside things to get done around the house, but we sure did have a nice time together and enjoying the 'warm' weather.

Anthony's camera skills

So in light of a previous post of Anthony being like his grandpa and loving to take pictures, we let him have the real camera and go to town. My sister-in-law Becky had this idea with her son too and so I thought it would be fun. Anthony did really well. Every other picture, for a while, is him running back and forth between Jake and I taking pictures of each of us. I was on the computer and Jake was in the family room :). It was fun to see what he got on camera. You can tell what Anthony's favorite things are....he took pictures of all of them. You have to click on the play button and then on each picture to really see them well :)...go for it if you'd like!!

5th anniversary, motorcycles and grandma!

What a weekend....we celebrated our 5th anniversary on the 18th and I can't believe it has been five years already. Wow time goes by quickly. I am so glad Jake and I were able to find each other--thanks Bryan! The last five years of marriage have been the best of my life. I am looking forward to many, many more. It is amazing what can happen in five years. We have two beautiful children, a house, a dog and are happier and more in love than we were five years ago. I love you Jake! My mom was here for the weekend so she helped out by watching the kids so we could go out to dinner. It has been a long time since we had been together without the kids. It was nice...but we also liked coming home to the kids. Thanks mom! Jake gave me a ring for our anniversary. It was a wonderful surprise! He even picked it out himself. I think he did a great job. I made Jake an arrangement of fruit flowers. It was quite the adventure, but they turned out great!!

It was also a warm Saturday so Jake got out his motorbike and he and Anthony enjoyed their first ride of the year! Anthony couldn't stop smiling. My mom and I went shopping and were so successful. I haven' t had a fun shopping trip for a long time. There were just too many things to pick from and we had to actually choose which ones to take and which to put back. I got some fun new things for my wardrobe and I can't wait for it to really be spring so I can wear them!!

Here is to another happy and fun five years!!

NO..NO..NO!!

AAAAH...I can't believe my eyes. Everytime I look out the window I just want to cry. We got more SNOW. Not just a little snow either, at least 3 inches. Why can't it just go away? I am completely ready to have warm weather! The sun is shining today so hopefully it will not last long and melt away quickly. Last night while it was snowing, Jake and I would look out the window and just shake our heads. We had to close the blinds and curtains so we couldn't see it anymore. We were shocked at how much came down.

This is our swing set this morning... And just so I know the promise of spring is still there ....
I hope it warms back up again soon!!!

A warm weekend!

We had such a beautiful day on Saturday and spent a lot of the morning and afternoon outside. Jake and I worked on the flower beds, pruning trees and removing some of the million leaves we still have left from the fall. Anthony helped us by moving dirt into the flower beds with his dump truck. He'd push it up the hill, put dirt in it and then run down the hill with it. He LOVES his dump trucks from Grandma Guymon. I'm sure they will have lots and lots of miles put on them this summer. Thanks Mom!

We enjoyed the sun, playing in the dirt and the fresh air. We really hope it continues!!

Jenna's Army Crawl

Jenna is starting to crawl. Not the traditional crawl, but Army crawl. She thinks she needs to keep up with Anthony . She gets where she wants to go now. It is funny to watch her! The other day I was looking at some pictures and Jenna was playing at my feet. Before i knew it, she was out the door and into Anthony's room. She loves to move! Enjoy! Click on the 'little' play button if you want to see it.

Stomach Bug

Okay...so now that we are feeling better *I HOPE* after each of us having the stomach bug, I can return to the normal world of keeping my house clean, my family feed, my laundry done (since we had to do it twice a day to keep up with the throw up) and my work complete. This means I can actually post on my blog too! Anthony started throwing up on Saturday night and we were up with him all night. Jenna got it on Tuesday and I'm still not sure what bottle is going to make her throw up or not. I had the quick case of it yesterday morning and my wonderful husband came to my rescue and helped me with the kids while I rested. Thankfully this is a quick bug. Through all of this we have spent a lot of time watching movies, reading stories and laying in bed. Hopefully we can all be better by the time the weekend is here so we can enjoy some spring weather *if the weather cooperates*!!

New teeth & New playroom

I never thought when Jake bought this ball pit so many hours and many days would be spent playing with it. Anthony loved it when he was JennaMarie's age and now JennaMarie can sit in it for a long time. She was so happy to be 'splashing' around in the balls. You can just hear her giggling when she picks one up and tries to eat it. She just thinks it is so funny when Anthony tosses the balls in through the top too. She is so much fun!!

She has also gotten two teeth! Both her bottom teeth have finally arrived. She is teething so much easier than Anthony did, but it is taking a lot longer too! I'm not sure which way I prefer :). We are just happy she has gotten her first two. Her top teeth are making their way down and are bulging at the gums....let's hope those are as 'easy' as her bottom teeth have been. Time sure goes by quickly!

"I'm like Grandpa"

When we were taking pictures of Jenna at Grandpa's studio Anthony had to run off and find his own camera. Luckily, Grandma and Grandpa had an extra one lying around. He thought he was taking pictures of Jenna too. Anthony has his 'own' camera at home too that is our old one and now when he sees it, this is what he says...."I'm like Grandpa." He loves taking pictures of his sister!

The Ensign

Wow---I have been blessed this past week. I posted a few days ago about goals and after I posted I had forgotten a few to help me with my spiritual growth. Sunday was fast sunday in our ward because General Conference is this weekend, so I had a goal to fast and pray about my attitude, my goals and my desire to do better is all aspects of my life. That was my first goal. Fast. I hadn't done it for over a year and one half because of being pregnant and nursing.

My second spiritual goal was to read at least one Ensign article a day. Apparently, this is not an easy thing for me because I don't put myself first. My kids and my husband come first so I had to make time for me to reflect and read. I think the April issue of the Ensign was meant just for me. I am amazed at how many articles I have found helpful in reaching my goals...spiritual ones and temporal ones.

My favorite article was "Your Divine Heritage" by Elder Robert Oaks. It was inspiring for me to remember that I am a daughter of our Heavenly Father and he WANTS us to be happy. My favorite quote from this article is this..."...It is also a very powerful, pesronal driving factor to be able to accept that we each can have a particular role to play in this plan. You owe it to yourself to make an extra effort to discover, in every detail possible, who you really are---to discover your eternal potential in God's plan." That sure made me think. I'm so grateful for answers to prayers. I am so amazed at how a girl like me can get such a powerful answer to questions and concerns about my attitude. I am renewed once again to know I am doing the right things and that Heavenly Father watches out for and loves ME!!!
