My parents are on a mission at the Sixth Crossings of the handcart company, Martin Cove area and we decided to go out and see them this summer. We hadn't seen them since Christmas and that typically doesn't happen for us, we see them quite often, so it was nice to go out and see them on their mission. They are great missionaries out there and the site really benefited from having them around, we missed them, but know they were where they were supposed to be. Bryan and Janelle and their cute family actually came on their way to Utah too and it was so fun to be there together. We got to attend church with my parents and then take a little hand cart walk to one of the sites. It was really neat to be there and to feel the spirit of the pioneers who gave everything for the church. I couldn't help but cry when Anthony reenacted one of the stories with Owen. He came in carrying his little brother on his back because their Mom couldn't carry anything more in their cart and it was just too much to bear, the older child died that night because of the exertion he did to carry his brother through the cold and wind. I cannot even imagine their hardships and the faith they had to carry on. Pretty amazing!
