Parco Degli Acquedotti...

Boy did we need sleep!  We slept until 11:30 local time...oops. We were going to get up and see more sites in Rome, but apparently we needed to sleep instead.  So, we got up and got going.  We decided to still hit the Park of the Aquaducts.  These are old Roman ruins from when the created Aquaducts to channel their water into the city.  To put into perspective to how big they are, in the picture above, my family is in the middle of the arch.  They were huge!  It was a pretty park that had lots of different trails to run/walk around.  We got to see some sheep and a few really pretty green birds.  It was a nice way to get out and burn off some energy before we drove for about 4 hours down towards Reggie on our way to Sicily.

The kids were amazing traveling in the car.  Not the case once we got to the hotel room though.  They didn't think they needed to go to sleep because they were on such a weird schedule.  We finally got them to sleep and decided to wake them up early the next morning to really try to get their sleep schedules right.  We are 8 hours ahead of where we are used to so it take some adjustment for sure.

The Italian country side is full of olive trees, orange trees, lemon trees and grape veins.  We went through several "mountain tunnels" which is what Owen called them. That was quite fun.  We missed quite a bit of scenery because we got such a late start and it was dark, but what we saw was amazing!

So glad to see you all are doing well and venturing out on your first day! Wow! Brave of you all with the lack of sleep.

I love the "pay by weight pizza". Would love to see what that looked like. Kind makes you think you can ditch the meat which ways more and add veggies instead to lighten it up both physically and calorically. :)
