Caserta Palace...

After a quick lunch provided by the Trimbles (my kids were THRILLED to be eating a lunchable and capri suns!) we headed to the Caserta Palace.  Have you ever seen Mission Impossible 3 or the Star Wars Episode 1?  Well, if you have, you've seen this palace, you just might not have known it!  We sure didn't and had to pull up the clips on youtube so we could see it...sure enough, Queen Amadala is walking down the exact stairs and passing that very lion we saw!  Pretty cool.  This Palace was quite amazing.  The grounds alone were quite a site to see.  We didn't even stand a chance of taking 8 kids all the way to the end where the waterfall was, but we went to the first rise to see the HUGE fish in the giant pond.  They get feed pretty well, that is for sure.  The kids enjoyed a game of tag and running along all the green grass.  It was incredible.

Once going in, the marble statues and amazing grand hall and staircase were breathtaking.  It was incredibly gorgeous.  I cannot even imagine living the way these people lived.  The bedrooms, the furniture, the arches, the chapel, the gold coated stuff are simply amazing to see.  By the time we got to the apartments everybody's feet hurt so we didn't go through the whole palace but I'm glad we got to see what we did see.  The girls were so excited because this is where a queen and princess would have lived!  Something very different than what we have seen before.
